Light It Up Soundtrack
The firework display on Diwali day is at the heart of Leicester’s Diwali celebration. In 2023, Inspirate commissioned Arun Ghosh to compose a special soundtrack, Light It Up, to accompany the display, as part of its curation of the festival’s artistic programme. Its magnificent melodies are punctuated by the bangs, flashes and vibrant whizzes of the fireworks. Blending traditional and contemporary sounds, Light It Up captures the energy, joy, and spirit of Diwali.

About the Light It Up composer
Arun Ghosh is a British-Asian clarinettist, bandleader and composer.
Twice awarded 'Jazz Instrumentalist of the Year' at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards, Arun tours nationally and internationally, and has released five albums.
A leading light on the UK jazz scene, Arun is a charismatic performer, and innovator of IndoJazz. With a musical style that embodies a multi-era, multi-genre approach, he and his band deliver a passionate sound, driven by soaring melodies, hypnotic rhythms and transcendental textures.
